Martha and I were partners today. We had the chance to pray for a guy who had a broken ankle. He experienced the love of God and was thankful for the prayer. He said "this is trippy".
Next, after being rejected by 3-4 people when we asked if we could pray for them, we walked across the massive parking lot praying that the next person we met would hear the gospel and accept Jesus. We walked into a store and met a girl who initially didn't want to take a touch card inviting her to Generation Church, but we kept talking, kept asking her questions about her life, kept believing that this could turn into a divine appointment. We learned that she lived in Hollywood as a model, but really needed a change in her life and was looking for peace, and vision for her future. She really needed help on the inside. We shared Romans Road with her, "the abridged version", and asked if she wanted to pray for God's forgiveness, cleansing, and presence in her life. She said YES!!! Her heart was softened; we told her God had sent us to tell her that He loved her and had a plan for her life. The simple gospel and love of God brought her to repentance. She did finally take that touch card and said she would try to visit when in town. Glory be to God.
Romans 2:4
Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?

Definitely my favorite story of the intern year so far [:
ReplyDeleteIt was really powerful to see her heart soften and open up to us right before our eyes as we began to share more about God to her. From the time I approached her until the time we had to leave I could sense a literal shift in the atmosphere, even down to the look on her face. As I was driving home today I just began to continue praying for her, that God would restore her life and that she would truly come to know the love of the Father.
I am so thankful that the interns get to go evangelizing every week and see lives changed! :D
